Happy Halloween!

We couldn't get enough of our little monster!

This year some friends had us over where we had a bonfire in their cul-de-sac.
We enjoyed great company, food and dessert.

The closest thing to a family photo these days. I have given up on getting Alec to look at the camera.
As long as he is in the frame, I will dub it a success.

Alec was not phased by all the spooky decor and flashing lights; however, when a friendly face opened the door and offered him candy he screamed his face off. Go figure.

Eventually he got the hang of it. He sure loved to stop for candy breaks.

Mostly he got his kicks out of wandering, in the dark, in the middle of the street, alone.

Of course the evening would not be complete without a little before bedtime hoops.

All tuckered out. I am sure this little monster/skeleton/boy will sleep well tonight.

9 Months

It is official, today I am 9 months pregnant!

We have decided to name our baby girl, AVA.

Physically I have had my ups and my definite downs this pregnancy. But having this little guy around has been the best distraction a mother could ask for. Here he is screaming "CATCH" before he hurls one of his two footballs my direction. He has been the perfect reminder that it will all be worth it at the end of 9 months!

Just for the Record

Alec still loves to hang out in his bouncer.
Affectionately referred to as his "recliner".

Even though he has clearly bottomed out and is practically horizontal.

(Disclaimer: These sunglasses magically appeared in our home. Not sure who they belong to, but if they are yours please let me know and I will make sure they get returned)

Christmas Spirit

Just a couple of items that I have come across that have got the wheels turning and have ALREADY put me in the Christmas Spirit.
(I know, it is only October, but I can't help myself)

Aren't these pajamas adorable? These are a must for Alec and Ava (baby girl) this year!

Found Here

Apparently my "nesting" is manifesting itself through the Holiday Spirit.
Maybe I should be worrying about more important things, like getting a new car seat?

Alec, the Jet Setter

A little over a week ago it dawned on us that in a few short days I would not be able to travel. So we decided on a last minute flight to Salt Lake to visit family. This makes it Alec's 10th flight, he is quite the jet setter!

We stayed with Scott's sister Summer and her cute family the first day.
Here we are at our old stomping grounds, the Gateway in Salt Lake.
Scott used to live in the apartments here before we got married. We have such great memories at the Gateway and love to visit.

the Adamsons
Don, Summer, Easton, Jayne and Elle

The kids had fun at the Discovery Center.

Surprise, surprise. All Alec wanted to do was play in the ball section.

Elle couldn't get enough of the cashier's isle.

Easton had a blast in the helicopter. This boy sure loves his momma.

Jayne showing off her musical talents.

We hit the University of Utah Bookstore to buy some stuff for our little Ute.

Then we were off to see my sisters. Kim, Amy and I were able to sneak off for an early morning workout. And by workout I mean Kim and Amy rode their little hearts out on the stationery bikes, while I stood in front of them chatting my little head off.

What do you do after a hard work out? Naturally you head to a delicious little mexican joint that I have been craving, Bajios.

Hanging out at Amy's place.
We could not get a picture without laughing, eyes closed, or having some leftover Bajios in someones teeth.

I hold such a special spot for my oldest nieces! I just love 'em!
They are the cutest little things and are all such great helpers to their moms.

Kim's girls, Danielle 9 and Sidney 11. Amy's girl, Missy 9.

Amy's youngest, Anna.
Doesn't get much cuter than this!

We headed off to Kim's house where we had an early Halloween dinner. Kim had this darling table set up, where she served soup with these homemade pumpkin bread bowls.

The two who pulled the night off.

Amy put together these cute goody bags.

Kim's Samantha. This girl gives Kim a run for her money, and we all love it because she is just like her Mom!

Kim's youngest, Brena. She is a little doll, literally. We asked her to hold her tail for the picture, and 15 minutes later she was still standing like this!

Brena is the complete opposite of Alec, who seemed to be doing this the entire trip.

Such a boy, he was throwing everything in sight. Shortly after snapping the photo, that ball came whizzing passed my face!

Amy's batgirl, Anna.

Amy's browned eyed police officer, Tyson.

Amy had the cute idea of having a talent show. The oldest girls organized it.
While we were busy making dinner, the girls came upstairs and handed us our tickets for the evening.

We were told that if we lost our tickets, then there was a $50 fee.

"Come join us in this Halloween special after dinner in the theater room"

Classic. Snow white riding her horse side saddle, like a princess.

The only hitch was that she fell off halfway through. That didn't stop Samantha, she got back on the horse and finished her talent.

All of the kids after the talent show with their awards. This must become an annual tradition.

Alec was a little champ on the flight home. No pun intended...okay maybe a little. (he is wearing a Champ Bailey football jersey)

This spontaneous trip was well worth the time, money and effort! I so wish that we lived closer to family! Every time we visit Utah we get very nostalgic. However, every time we arrive back in Denver we feel that we are home and that we wouldn't want to live anywhere else. (we just need to convince all the rest of our family that they want to live here too!)
