Alec's Crib

I heard a commotion coming from Alec's room, I walked in and this is what I found.

Time to lower the crib.

Alec having a stupor of thought.

Alec 11 Months

Jail Bird
Flapping his arms like a little baby bird.

Homeboy is finally weaned! No more nursies for this little boy! While I am excited to finally be done nursing and to have my body back, I am also a lot more sad than I thought I would be.

Our little puff-a-holic loves to sit in his chair and feed himself puffs.

Someone stopped nursing just in time, look who got his first tooth.

He can hold himself up on his activity table, what a little stud!

Alec's friend Max lent him his bouncer about a week ago, this boy could live in this thing.

My little social butterfly loves his play dates. Here he is with his friend Max.

Obviously having the time of their lives! I am so much fun!

His latest trick is that he will "scare" you.

Copy Cat HAS to have everything that we have. He throws a conniption if we take away the remote.

MadMen and Dresses

I have no intentions of trying to create or turn this into a fashion blog; however, I could not resist a post about this dress from Anthropologie. I love, love, love it.

We have been watching a lot of MadMen lately and as a result, I have become obsessed with their dresses.

I do understand that it is somewhat unrealistic to have my hair done up, make-up perfect, chase a toddler around, keep up a clean house and have dinner ready all in my pretty yellow dress just in time for Scott when he comes home (like it was done in the 50's).

I tend to look more like this as Scott is going to and from work.

Still, I do think that it would be nice to be able to have a pretty yellow dress for church on Sundays. Am I right? While I am still waiting to purchase my yellow dress, Scott was cute enough to notice my latest obsession and he did pick this up for me. This may be a more realistic option to get the look I am going for.

Isn't this apron adorable? The only downside is that in order to wear it I actually have to cook (which may have been Scott's motivation for the purchase) nonetheless, I am so happy with it! Thank you Scott for braving the scary world of Anthropologie to get it for me! And thank you to the women of MadMen for looking adorable and for setting an unattainable standard for this lazy and frumpy housewife of the 2011's to keep up with!

Cabin Fever

I am just a little hyperactive, so during the winter I go stir crazy.
(Scott may tell you that I just flat out go crazy...all the time, but that's a whole new topic)

While in Utah, Don and Summer took us snowshoeing for the first time. I am in love! Where have you been all my life? I have finally found the solution to my cabin fever.

Snowshoeing can be quite exhausting, so we took a break and made snow angels

Two Days After Christmas,

we celebrated my 26th birthday.
We were able to get together with my family and visit the Discovery Center at the Gateway Mall in Salt Lake.

Cute Danielle, I love this girl!

Cody had a blast hauling important cargo around in his truck.

Kim and Alec brushed up on their news casting skills. Sidney, not pictured, was the director (surprise, surprise) She didn't hesitate at the opportunity to boss her mom around.

My dad was able to join us for the day.

For dinner we went to one of our favorite places in Salt Lake, Thaifoon.

I love getting together with my sisters! The day went by way too fast!

a way too detailed account of CHRISTMAS

For Christmas we flew to SLC to stay with Scott's sister Summer and her cute little family. They were perfect hosts and couldn't have made us feel more welcome!

Alec made friends with his cousins Elle, Easton and Jayne.

Summer's kids were so cute to entertain Alec. Peek-a-boo I see you!

More entertainment.

Speaking of entertainment-look who was the donkey for the Nativity. Bahahahaha, there is so much I want to say...but I will leave it to your wild imagination!

We sure missed Heather and her family. Thanks to good old Skype, they were still able to make an appearance.

Pucker up!

Don and Summer made a delicious traditional Christmas Eve Dinner.

Christmas Morning

Summer's family got Alec the cutest little interactive puppy from Leap Frog.

We splurged and got him, (drum roll please)
WRAPPING PAPER!

Despite Scott and Josh's best efforts to brainwash Easton, he stayed true blue to his beloved Cougars.

My mom happened to be in town so she stopped by to wish us a Merry Christmas.

As you can see, Alec received almost no attention from his Grammie's.

Easton and I became BFF's once he learned that I would play games with him.

The tickle monster was a frequent visitor.

Alec and his favorite Aunt that is named Summer.

At any given time, there was a crew down in the basement watching tv. Especially Scott and Josh who were monitoring their Fantasy Football Teams. Yes, teams is plural. They are both in three leagues each. Hallelujah the seasons are over! No more midnight phone calls and trades going on! I have to admit that I hate fantasy football, but I do love that Scott loves it.

We stayed up until 2 or 3 almost every night, playing games, watching movies and chatting. The game of choice this trip was BLOKUS.

I love Christmas! Only 364 more days...
